Celebrate Shavuot at LMS

The LMS Education Committee and Youth Department are proud to present this year’s Shavuot schedule.

Join us for a dynamic array of learning opportunities for all ages including shiurim, chaburot, and special teen and youth activities. There will be numerous opportunities to hear from our Scholar-in-Residence Rabbi Elchanan Adler and we are pleased to present a Tea & Torah by Dr. Miriam Adler on the second day of Shavuot.

Please note that Rabbi Adler’s 6:40 p.m. shiur on the second day of Shavuot is an advanced shiur. The source sheets for preparation are available by clicking here.
LMS members, ages 60+, are invited for a special Shavuot Lunch & Learn on the second day of Shavuot, immediately following the 9:00 minyan.
Our Scholar-in-Residence, Rabbi Elchanan Adler, will give the Annual Dr. Jay I. Castle z”l Memorial Lecture on the topic, “Praying for the Sick: Origins and Perspectives”. Those not attending the lunch are invited for the lecture at 12:45 p.m.

Rabbi Elchanan Adler has been a Rosh Yeshiva at YU’s RIETS

since 1998, and holds the Rubin Chair in Rabbinics. As a Gruss
Kollel Elyon Fellow, he edited two volumes of Beit Yosef Shaul and
received the Imrei Shefer Writing Award. An accomplished speaker
and writer, Rabbi Adler has lectured in many communities and is the author of Sefer Mitzvat HaShabbat and numerous Torah articles on diverse topics of Jewish thought. Before joining YU, Rabbi Adler studied at Yeshivas Beis Yosef-Novardok, Mirrer Yeshiva, and Mesivtha Tifereth Jerusalem, where he received semikha from Rav Dovid Feinstein. Rabbi Adler holds a BA summa cum laude in Psychology from CUNY and an MS in Secondary Jewish Education from the Azrieli Graduate School where he received the Axelrod Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence.

Dr. Miriam Adler is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Executive

Director of Park Avenue Psychotherapy Associates in Clifton, NJ. She
earned her undergraduate degree from YU’s Stern College, and received her Doctorate from Fordham University. Drl Adler specializes in treating anxiety disorders and adult ADD, and integrates a variety of non-medication based approaches, including neurofeedback, hypnosis and EMDR.
